This actually does have a good feeling to it, as you said. The way the hair blends somewhat into the background, the pose and feel, and the sharper backlighting adds a very crisp tone to it.

The warmer colors used on various parts of his skin do an excellent job at balancing contrast with the overall blue color theme, too.
